Origins of GIVERDI
Some stories are not passed down—they must be rediscovered.
In 1873, the great-great-grandfather of GIVERDI’s founder — a young Austrian tailor named Sebastian H. — crafted a cashmere waistcoat for Emperor Franz Joseph I. According to a preserved journal entry, it became one of the Emperor’s most cherished garments.
In that same journal, Sebastian referred to himself — not by name, but simply as “the Giverdi.” A word of his own creation, quietly embodying dedication, humility, and the spirit of giving.
His life ended during the First World War, and with him, his craft seemed lost. For over a century, the name remained hidden — until his descendant uncovered this remarkable legacy in a family archive.
GIVERDI is not merely a continuation of tradition. It is a deliberate revival of a forgotten origin — rooted in craftsmanship, quality, and intention.
